What is an individual Brain Gym consultation?

A private session involves a Brain Gym Balance, which targets specific movements and activities to maximize learning or performance in a given situation. In many cases there are primitive reflexes still active in the body, and I use a Rhythmic Movement program to facilitate integration of the primitive reflexes into postural reflexes. The sensory stimulation caused by Rhythmic Movements stimulates nerve nets of the brainstem, cerebellum, basal ganglia and neo cortex to develop. This causes attention and concentration to improve and hyperactivity and impulsivity to decrease. It also facilitates the ability to regulate levels of activity and be still.

    How can it help me?

The powerful five-step learning process links a goal of your choosing to the abilities needed to accomplish it. When targeted movements and activities are performed in the context of this process, it brings about rapid and automatic improvements related to the goal.

How long does a consultation last?

A standard session for adults is 90 minutes. For children under 7 years old, a standard session is forty-five minutes. For children over 7, it is 60 minutes. The number of sessions required varies from person to person, depending on what the goals are and what individual's situation is. I recommend a minimum of six sessions to start with, one or two weeks apart. It is clearer at the end of the first session how many are needed for the program - sometimes more, and sometimes less. Each session is unique and build's on the results from the previous session.

    Introductory Workshop
Pathways to Learning - an Introduction to Brain Gym®

    What is it about?

Neuroscience tells us that all learning involves movement, and Brain Gym is about learning through movement. We explore how Brain Gym movements and activities may be used to facilitate a "ready" state for learning, release stress associated with learning, improve concentration, coordination, willingness to participate and listening skills.

    How long is the workshop?

Pathways to Learning is 3.5hours in duration.

    How do I register?

Call 3374 3411 to book a place on the workshop.

Brain Gym Brisbane warm up exercise What does the Brain Gym 101 course cover?
    • PACE – four steps to get ready. This Brain Gym warm-up can be done in less than four minutes. The user feels instantly focused, on-track, and ready to begin any task.

    • Five-step Balance – this powerful process, which is at the heart of the Brain Gym system, links a goal of one’s own choosing to the abilities needed to accomplish it. It includes a simple method for determining which Brain Gym activities will best support the goal, plus a reinforcement technique called ‘anchoring’ that quickly internalizes the new learning.

    • 26 Targeted Movements and Activities – when performed in the context of the balance process, these simple physical movements bring about rapid and automatic improvements in academic skills such as reading, writing, concentration, memory and math; as well as interpersonal skills like communication. They also produce noticeable gains in creativity, energy levels, stress release, and workplace or athletic performance.

    • Two Repatterning Sequences – Dennison Laterality Repatterning (DLR) integrates logic and gestalt brain hemispheres, enabling one to shift mental gears from reflexive action to more conscious ways of thinking and behaving. The Three-Dimension Repatterning (3-DLR) goes beyond logic and gestalt brain hemispheres to also integrate the brain’s deeper structures.
